Looks can be deceiving. While one may look crabby, they may be suffering on the inside. This was apparent with the addition of the Crab as a wildcard in Group B. I won’t spoil my comments on the performance, so let’s get to all of them:
Song: “Bad Reputation” by Joan Jett
Thoughts: The performance was okay. I couldn’t stop watching the dancers; the choreography was…interesting.
My Guess: I don’t have a clue. There was a Boxer dog in the clue package, which leads me to believe that this could be a boxer. There was also a yellow car that appeared in the package. Nothing is coming together in that brain of mine.
Judges’ Guesses: Robin guessed that this is Jack Black, Ken said this is Kevin Hart, and Nicole said this is Logan or Jake Paul.
Song: “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)” by Andy Grammar
Thoughts: This was a great performance.
My Guess: I’m still convinced this is Nick Lachey. The voice is so distinct. The clue package said he is a hometown hero, which is the case with Lachey (he is from Cincinnati, OH and has appreciation for the city). He also said that he is competitive and has gotten into scuffles before. He was in an altercation while he was at a Cincinnati Bengals game in 2012.
Judges’ Guesses: Jenny said this is Jonathan Knight. Ken said this is JC Chasez and Nicole said this is Austin Mahone. Ken’s getting better at this guessing thing.
Song: “In My Blood” by Shawn Mendes
Thoughts: I think we are looking at the winner of season five of The Masked Singer.
My Guess: I’m not sure why, but I’m leaning towards the Black Swan being JoJo (remember the song “Leave (Get Out)”?). She has always had a powerful voice, including a wide vocal range, which is apparent with Black Swan. The clues in the package didn’t really help me one way or another to cement my guess.
Judges’ Guesses: Robin said this is Ashlee Simpson, Ken said this is Lindsay Lohan, and Nicole said this is Demi Lovato.
Song: “21 Questions” by 50 Cent
Thoughts: I liked the song. The performance was so-so.
My Guess: Well, my Redfoo guess went out the window. This doesn’t sound like Redfoo at all. There were peaches, which is making me believe this person is from Georgia. He has also said that he encourages people to be unique. I have no idea now, but I’m leaning towards the fact that this person is a basketball or football player.
Judges’ Guesses: Jenny said this is 2 Chainz, Ken said this is Iman Shumpert, and Nicole said this is Dwayne Wade.
Song: “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill Withers
Thoughts: The pain and heartache in his performance was so apparent. This was such a great performance, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Crab ends up in the finals.
My Guess: I’m leaning towards this being Bobby Brown. He alluded to the fact that he was a teen idol in his clue package but has experienced a lot of tragedy in his life. The deaths of Brown’s wife and daughter would connect to the clues. He also said that his childhood crush is Janet Jackson and added that he grew up with her. This would make so much sense as I believe they’re around the same age.
Judges’ Guesses: Robin said this is Johnny Gill and Ken said this is Bobby Brown.
Now for the eliminations. The performances this week were pretty good, and I didn’t want to see anyone get eliminated. Unfortunately, Grandpa Monster sang his last song.
The judges guessed Grandpa Monster to be the following: Robin said initially this was Johnny Manziel and stuck with this answer. Jenny said this was Morgan Freeman (what?!) but changed her answer to The Miz. Ken said initially that this was Emmitt Smith but changed his answer to Kevin Hart. Nicole initially said this was Cam Newton but changed her answer to Jake Paul.
Grandpa Monster was revealed to be…Logan Paul (not Jake Paul)! I’m not familiar with his career, but I do know he was in some controversial territory when he took a picture in a suicide forest in Japan back in 2017 (the clue package had Grandpa Monster in the forest, so it makes sense it would be him).
The Group B Finals are next week, and it looks like another wildcard will be introduced. Joker’s wild, I guess.
